JACKIE
I started practicing yoga over 10 years ago in the comfort of my living room with a yoga video. What started out as a way to cope with back pain, turned into a journey toward a healthier lifestyle. The power yoga flow classes felt amazing and was such a great fit with my personality. I craved a challenge, and it delivered. I left feeling stronger and energized and wanted to deepen my knowledge about yoga.
Several years ago, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with LifePower Yoga, a program created by Jonny Kest, and skillfully led by my teachers April Fort and Michelle Aidinian-Montalvo. I have an educational background in Clinical Psychology and worked in private practice for several years. I feel that yoga serves to bring greater awareness to, not only the body, but also the mind. The feeling I get of mental clarity right after a vigorous physical yoga practice just can’t be beat! I am an eternal student of the practice and always appreciate the opportunity to learn from other teachers and students.
In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing of the yoga poses, a bit of a challenge, and a sprinkle of inspiration mixed with sweat. You will leave feeling balanced, nourished, accomplished, and renewed.
Staying active is so important to me. When I’m not practicing yoga, I am training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. There are many similarities to them, and they compliment each other so well. My love for good food means that I train and work hard to enjoy the things that I like.
I look forward to seeing you in class!
